☪️ Quran: Chapter 68 The Pen Al Qalam سورة القلم

Updated: Jun 8

Revelation place: Mecca

Revelation order: 2

Number of verses: 52

Theme:

The central theme of Surah Al Qalam is morality and righteous character. It highlights the importance of maintaining good manners, honesty, humility, and patience, especially in the face of rejection, mockery, or hardship. The Surah praises the noble character of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and presents him as a model of moral excellence.

It strongly warns against arrogance, greed, and dishonesty, emphasizing the consequences of turning away from divine guidance. One of the main messages of this Surah is that people should not be proud or arrogant. Those who reject Allah’s guidance and act unjustly will face consequences, either in this life or in the Hereafter.

Surah Al-Qalam reminds believers that moral character is a core part of faith, and that accountability before Allah is certain. Maintaining humility, justice, and patience is the path to true success.

I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the condemned.

With the name of Allah, the Gracious the Merciful.

47- Or they have that, that is absent, so they write (have knowledge of the absent unseen, unknown, so they write from it)

48- So be patient to the decree of your God, and do not be like the companion of the whale (Younis, Jonnah), as he called while he was repressed (Impatiently asking God to hasten punishment to his disbelieving people)

49- And if not had reached him blessing from his God, would have been thrown with nakedness (wilderness, naked in empty open land, or stayed in the whale till judgment day) while unconscious (condemned and blamed)
